Job Description
Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time Cryptographic Planner located in Scott AFB, IL to support the Headquarters Cyber Capability Center (HQ CCC). The HQ CCC is charged with identifying cryptographic capability gaps across all operational domains—space, air, cyber, and ground—and with advancing Air Force (AF) Cryptographic Modernization (CM) initiatives and their associated ground, air, space, and weapons/munitions mission directives.

Responsibilities include:
- Provide Program Objective Memorandum (POM) support and advice on HQ CCC program and the processes of Secretary of the Air Force (SAF) , Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Cyber Panel, HQ ACC, and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center AFLCMC Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (AFLCMC/HNC).
- Collect, consolidate, document, and review inputs, prepare all forms of Major Command (MAJCOM) POM documentation (e.g. Power Point, Excel, Bullet Background Papers (BBP)), make recommendations, and brief cost estimates, initiatives and disconnects for each program under the program element (PE).
- Develop strategic plans and roadmaps for Government review and approval with long-term recommendations for AF Crypto, to address the large number of cryptographic algorithm decertification’s and the fast-changing technology.
- Analyze and provide recommendations regarding the potential direction and options for crypto in the 2026-2036 timeframes and long-term recommendations in the 2030-2060 timeframes.
- Provide Device Management, Accountability, and Algorithm Transition support and advice to HQ CCC by collecting and reviewing inputs, preparing documentation (e.g. power point, excel, BBPs), and making recommendations for each crypto program.
- Investigate opportunities for continuous Process Improvement within the Cryptographic Modernization team and its activities and provide recommendations to HQ CCC.
- Assist the government with Radio Cryptographic Modernization Plan (RCMP) database improvements, sustainment, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:
- TS Clearance with SCI/SAP Eligibility.
- Must be US Citizen
- Minimum of two years of advanced staff experience with planning, organizing, and negotiating effectively with leading cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of critical recommendations.
- Requires at least two years of staff experience managing complex, multi-faceted programs. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills to support staff action officer processes, including document reviews, program updates, and the creation of point papers.
- Expert knowledge of Communication Security (COMSEC) equipment and keying material processes with minimum of two years’ experience. Thorough understanding of controlling authority roles and responsibilities as well as complex equipment account roles and responsibilities.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with strategic level NSA, DoD, and DAF security policies and procedures as they pertain to cryptographic and keying material, associated classification guides pertaining to cryptographic algorithms, equipment, and COMSEC keying material.
