• 10+ years of experience supporting RF systems, SIGINT platforms, or complex electronic systems
• Extensive hands-on experience with RF test equipment, including VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope, and power meters
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, including frequency analysis, signal propagation, impedance matching, and signal loss
• Experience performing and interpreting S-parameter testing (S11, S21) and RF performance analysis
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex RF systems at component, subsystem, and system levels
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and RF/system documentation
• Experience supporting system integration, testing, and field deployments
• Proficiency with Linux system administration (disk management, permissions, RAID, system architecture)
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a qualified Senior RF Engineering Technician supporting a federal program in Norfolk, VA. This individual will play a critical role in RF system testing, integration, and field deployment across both lab and operational environments. This candidate is responsible for performing advanced RF testing and validation at the component, subsystem, and full system level. The ideal candidate has deep experience with RF test methodologies, signal analysis, and complex troubleshooting, and can independently support deployment activities, including CONUS/OCONUS and shipboard environments.
• Perform advanced RF component and system-level testing to ensure hardware meets manufacturer and mission requirements
• Set up and operate RF test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope, power meters)
• Execute and analyze S-parameter and RF performance testing (S11/S21, insertion loss, frequency response, signal integrity)
• Lead system integration, validation, and UAT across lab and field environments
• Troubleshoot complex RF systems and perform root cause analysis at component and system levels
• Support CONUS/OCONUS deployment, installation, and field testing, including maritime platforms
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test procedures, reports, and training materials
Compensation: $100k - $125k
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
