We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Technician - SECRET Clearance to join our team in Newport News, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Field Services Specialist & Local Registration Authority (LRA) to join our delivery team. The Field Services Technician & Local Registration Authority (LRA) provides critical identity, credential, and access management (ICAM) services while also delivering hands‑on technical support to end users across the campus. This hybrid role ensures proper identity validation, account administration, smartcard lifecycle support, digital certificate management, and full-spectrum field/desktop services to maintain a secure and efficient IT environment. This position requires strong customer service skills, technical versatility, and detailed knowledge of access management processes and desktop support operations.
Job Duties:
Perform identity verification for all account‑related requests and ensure proper sponsor authorization prior to action.
Manage the full lifecycle of digital certificates, including issuance, suspension, restoration, and revocation.
Execute scheduled provisioning and deprovisioning of Windows and Unix accounts (create/modify/disable/delete).
Conduct account maintenance activities including password resets, account unlocks, and group membership updates.
Support full smartcard lifecycle functions:
Assign and provision new cards
Renew expiring certificates
Reset/unblock smartcard PINs
Replace damaged or lost cards.
Serve as an LRA to ensure compliance with organizational credentialing policies, identity validation standards, and chain-of-trust requirements.
Reimage laptops and desktops, including Windows 10/11 and specialized system images.
Troubleshoot a wide range of issues including hardware, software, operating system, and network connectivity problems.
Support recurring and ad-hoc device refresh cycles, asset rollouts, and break/fix requests.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to enterprise applications, domain authentication, endpoint agents, and productivity tools.
Escalate issues appropriately to Tier II/III teams when needed while maintaining ownership through resolution.
Document work performed in the enterprise ticketing system
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of technical support, application support, field services, or desktop support experience
Computing Environment Certification (Microsoft Windows, or VMWare certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of start date).
Current IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Sec +
Active Secret Clerance with ability to upgrade to Top Secret W/ SSBI
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this role is $83,520 - $125,280. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. If the position offered in temporary, the position will not be eligible for incentive compensation. This position is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life and AD&D insurance, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and additional voluntary or legally-required benefits.
