Duties
As an ALLIED TRADES SUPERVISOR-Title 32 OBO, WS-3401-11, you will be responsible for supervising workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing the work of the function. Plans work operations of great scope, complexity, and administrative authority. Determines the sequence, priority, and time for the performance of particular operations within the limits of broad work schedules and time limits.
DUTIES:
-Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to week or month-to-month basis.
-Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes.
-Plans and establishes overall leave schedules.
-Performs the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed.
-Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
-Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, and mobilization and command support exercises.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS :
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: E-1 through E-9 and WO1

-Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
-This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
-Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate can organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : To qualify for the WS-3401-11, you must have at least 36 months experience coordinating work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to use all types of hand tools, and measuring equipment related to this occupational series. Experience demonstrating the ability to set up and operate machining tools and using hand tools to make or repair parts, tools, gauges, models, patterns, mechanisms, and machines. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
