My name is Allen, and we are currently seeking Systems Engineers to support one of our defence clients at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland.
• Position: Systems Engineer (Tier 1–3 Support)
• Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland
• Clearance: TS/SCI CI POLY
Job Description:
We are seeking Tier 1–3 Systems Support Engineers with strong experience in Linux-based system administration to provide remote support for a range of Cyber, Intelligence, and Electronic Warfare systems. The support will include maintaining and troubleshooting systems similar to existing Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) systems.
The tiered support structure will ensure timely and effective resolution of system issues, starting from Tier 1 technicians and escalating to Tier 3 engineers with advanced expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Tier 1–3 system administration and technical support remotely from APG.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and monitor Linux-based environments.
• Utilize ticketing tools such as Remedy, JIRA, or Redmine for issue tracking and resolution.
• Support automation and configuration management using Puppet, Ansible, or related tools.
• Work with containerization technologies such as Docker and Docker Compose.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure mission readiness and system uptime.
Required Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a System Administrator (SYSAD) or Systems Engineer in Linux environments (RHEL preferred).
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or equivalent.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems (Remedy, JIRA, Redmine).
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Red Hat Certifications (RHCSA / RHCE) or equivalent Linux credentials.
• Experience with Puppet, Docker, Apache NiFi, or similar tools.
• Prior military experience in roles such as Army MOS 35T, USMC 2600, Navy CTM, or Air Force Cyber Systems Ops (1D7X1) is a plus.
