Job Overview
The IT shipboard and shore Labor Helper assists in the installation, maintenance, and support of IT equipment, Telephony equipment, shipboard systems, HF antenna and radar systems for the USCG and NIWC. This role provides labor support by handling physical tasks, moving equipment, and preparing work areas to ensure efficient setup and maintenance of electronic systems technology.

Job Overview

Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
- Assist in the loading, unloading, and transportation of electronic equipment and materials to and from work sites.
- Prepare and organize work areas by setting up cables, mounts, and protective coverings for electronic and IT equipment installation or maintenance.
- Support Technicians during installation, testing, and repair tasks by providing tools, lifting, and positioning equipment.
- Clean and maintain equipment and storage areas to ensure proper operation and organization.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent damage to equipment and injury to personnel.
- Perform routine tasks such as cable pulling, mounting support, and basic wiring under supervision.
- Support the disposition of equipment
- General labor will be required such as painting, wall repair, assembly and disassembly of equipment.

The employee is expected to keep manager and supervisors apprised of their progress, maintain ability to work well with others, adhere to contract requirements, and comply with company policies and procedures. - Ability to effectively communicate with all team members.
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of tools is helpful but not required; on-the-job training is provided.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to support technical staff.
Job Requirements
Mandatory
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance within 180 days of hire
- Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays as required.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work in various physical conditions, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test
