On-site — Configuration Management (Full-Time)
Columbia, Maryland
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Configuration Manager to join our team. This position is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of complex technical projects by managing configuration items, maintaining documentation, and supporting integration activities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage configuration items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle from inception to retirement
- Develop and maintain configuration management plans and procedures
- Create and update configuration control boards (CCBs) and related documentation
- Support change control processes and ensure compliance with configuration management requirements
- Coordinate with technical teams to ensure accurate and complete configuration data
- Conduct configuration audits and reviews to verify compliance
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on configuration management best practices
- Maintain configuration management databases and tools
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for staff on configuration management processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in configuration management, preferably in a defense or government contracting environment
- Experience with DoD configuration management requirements and standards
- Strong understanding of configuration management processes and tools
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Security clearance required (Active Secret clearance preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field
- Experience with specific configuration management tools (e.g., DOORS, PLM)
- Experience with Agile or DevSecOps methodologies
- Previous experience working on classified programs
