SENIOR SYSTEMS SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

OVERVIEW
Waveguide places senior engineering talent on mission-focused government programs. We are hiring a Senior Systems Software Developer in Chantilly to build large-scale data systems that move significant volumes of data from ingest through display, with a particular focus on cloud data. This is a hands-on senior development role on a fast-moving program.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Design and implement large-scale ingest systems in a Big Data environment
Optimize the full data lifecycle, from planning to ingest through final display and beyond
Build data extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading, and distribution
Develop custom solutions to ingest and exploit new and existing data sources
Build data profiling, deduplication, and matching logic for analysis
Organize and maintain data-layer documentation so others can use it
Collaborate with teammates, vendors, and users to develop better, more efficient methods
Clearly articulate the risks and constraints of software solutions within the environment
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Active TS/SCI with full-scope polygraph
Strong software development, including significant Java, data analysis and parsing, and SQL and database experience
Strong experience across the full data lifecycle, ingest through display, in a Big Data environment
Java technologies such as JDK, J2EE, EJB, JDBC, and Spring, plus RESTful APIs
ETL development in Linux and cloud environments
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Hadoop, HBase, MapReduce
Elasticsearch
Experience in a mission environment or with many different data types
