Job Description

• Company: Northrop Grumman
• Position: SE&V SystemsEngineer
• Location: Onsite at 9975 Federal Drive in CO Springs or 1200 Redstone Gateway in Huntsville, AL
• Duration: long term, ongoing contract – we are a direct sub to the C2BMC program
• Clearance: Secret, will hold TS if you already have it
• Program – C2BMC

"Essential Functions:
This position will perform some or all of the following duties, concentrating on early-phase (concept, requirements, and design) activities of the Systems-Engineering Development Lifecycle:
• Lead the development of new system concepts by translating stakeholder needs, gathered through documentation and solicitation, into easily reviewable technical approaches
• Perform requirements elicitation and decomposition using behavioral artifacts such as use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams to convey understanding of the required behaviors and the system's performance under development
• Lead the development of physical and logical system models that capture the system under development, using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools
• Lead system interface development, as documented in Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs), by translating system and interface requirements into message-level details sufficient to coordinate interface development
• Facilitate both formal and informal engineering technical reviews
• Create, review, and critique interface documents, system requirements, verification documentation, architectural documentation, and engineering estimates
• Interface with key stakeholders, including the MDA customer and working-level counterparts, as needed
• Participate in Agile development planning and execution, including iteration planning and status reporting

Basic Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in STEM Computer Science, Systems Engineering (preferred), Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a STEM-related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related discipline with 4 years of relevant work experience
• Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
• Work will be performed as a member of an Agile Scrum team, under the direction of a Team Lead who reports to the C2BMC Regional Systems Engineering Manager
• Experience with MBSE approaches and tools (e.g., Cameo)
• Experience working on tasks where failure to achieve good results typically results in program delays and wasted expenditure of resources
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate (written and verbal) with others, present technical content, and receive critical feedback
• Ability to handle short notice or urgent tasks without sacrificing efficiency
• Work will be performed in a closed area with no remote work options

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering
• Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
• Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF)
Candidates for this position will ideally meet some or all of the following preferred qualifications:
• Systems Engineer with 8+ years of experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems engineers to develop solutions covering all aspects of the Systems Engineering Development Lifecycle
• Demonstrated experience across all responsibilities of this role
• Experience regularly interacting with the customer, specifically in eliciting customer needs and requirements
• Experience with one or more elements of the Missile Defense System
• Experience with one or more elements of Space Defense, Space Domain Awareness, or other Space Missions
• Experience with complex Command and Control Systems, especially those with extensive networking capabilities
• Experience performing many of the responsibilities of this position, with a particular focus on concept development and requirements decomposition"
