Computer Client Support Technician

R&K has an opportunity to provide services to support Headquarters (HQ) AFSOC A2 to deliver specialized subject matter expertise to Air Force, USSOCOM, and AFSOC intelligence programs, supporting a comprehensive range of activities and objectives.

The Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Directorate supports and executes programs that enhance the capabilities of Air Force Special Operations Forces (AFSOF) intelligence personnel. These programs are designed to ensure intelligence personnel are equipped to deliver comprehensive and actionable intelligence services to United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) elements and subordinate commands. Program activities encompass the collection, interpretation, and timely dissemination of intelligence information gathered from multiple sources, including manned and unmanned airborne ISR platforms. In addition to airborne collection, AFSOC ISR conducts rapid, real-time synthesis of extensive intelligence data derived from diverse sources, such as human intelligence (HUMINT), signals intelligence (SIGINT), imagery intelligence (IMINT), and geospatial intelligence (GEOINT).

Duration: Permanent/Full-Time

Clearance: TS/SCI clearance required

Start Date: Anticipated start date July 16, 2026, contingent upon award.

Provides administration and management assistance for AFSOC's networks. Duties include, but are not limited to configuration management, maintenance, troubleshooting of NIPR/SIPR/TS client workstations.

Duties:
  • Technical Support: Provide assistance to users experiencing hardware or software issues, either in person or remotely. This includes troubleshooting problems and delivering solutions to common software and hardware issues.
  • System Setup and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, including hardware components like routers, printers, and servers.
  • Help Desk Management: Manage A2 help desk tickets, respond to requests in a timely manner, and log both problems and resolutions to maintain accurate records.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Base: Create and maintain documentation for troubleshooting procedures and solutions. Develop a knowledge base to assist other technicians and users.

User Training: Educate users on how to use software applications and hardware effectively, providing training sessions as needed.

Collaboration: Work closely with other Information Technology (IT) staff and departments to ensure all technical needs are met and to escalate issues when necessary.

Requirements, Relevant Knowledge and/or Skills Required:

Education:
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant IT field.
  • Contractor must have and maintain currency of the appropriate level certification in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570.01-M (or current DoD/DFARS guidance governing IA workforce qualifications).
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Products.

Experience:
  • 5 years of recent IT experience.
  • 5 years minimum experience performing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software required for MS and LINUX operations systems
  • 2 years minimum of experience, within the past 3 years, with Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, VMWare, Linux server software, and have knowledge on network storage.
  • 5 years of experience administering and deploying geospatial applications and intelligence related automation to support analytical efforts and product development is desired.
  • 5 years of experience in administering and deploying enterprise level open source and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) server equipment in support of intelligence organizations.


Skills:
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills to assist non-technical users effectively.
  • Familiarity with computer systems, networks, and various software applications.


Highly Desired: previous relevant experience in the Special Operation Forces (SOF) community is highly desired.
