Sunayu, LLC has an exciting new opportunity to support the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC). We are looking for professionals to help us manage and modernize the IT infrastructure that drives world-class language instruction for the DLIFLC’s diverse academic community.
The Cyber Defense Analyst is responsible for using data collected from various cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) to analyze events within their environments. The primary goal is to mitigate threats and enhance the organization's security posture.
Position Requirements
Experience:
- Data Analysis: Utilize data from cyber defense tools to analyze and interpret security events.
- Threat Mitigation: Identify and respond to potential threats to mitigate risks.
- Incident Response: Participate in incident response activities to address security breaches.
- Continuous Monitoring: Maintain ongoing surveillance of network traffic and security alerts.
- Collaboration: Work with all teams to implement effective defense strategies and improve overall security measures.
- Relevant Skills: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, ACAS, Palo Alto Networks, GitLab, BurpSuite, MacOS, iPadOS, Windows, and RedHat Enterprise Linux.
Education:
- Associate’s degree (AA/AS) in Information Technology or related field OR 2‑year technical diploma OR 2+ years of directly relevant hands‑on IT support experience. Bachelor’s preferred, not required.
Certifications:
- IAT Level I (A+ CE or Network+ CE) — required. IAT Level II (Security+, CySA+, or SSCP) — preferred for shift leads/escalation or when privileged admin access is assigned. Vendor OS cert (Windows or Apple) preferred for imaging/break‑fix.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. The ability to move files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary would be required.

Pay Rate
Salary range considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
