Job Description
GTSC seeks System Administrators (Level I, II, or III).
Location: Hanover, MD
All work is on-site. This is not a hybrid or remote position.

Mission:
GTSC seeking System Administrators at multiple experience levels (Level Iu2013III) to support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure. Candidates will be responsible for managing system operations, supporting users, and ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of enterprise environments. Level placement will be determined based on experience, technical expertise, and demonstrated capabilities.
Clearance: Active Top Secret SCI with polygraph.
Requirements:
Experience supporting IT systems in enterprise environments (level dependent):
Level I: ~5 years or equivalent experience/training
Level II: ~10 years
Level III: ~15 years
• Requires bachelorx27s degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with Windows and/or UNIX/Linux system administration
• Familiarity with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with tools such as VMware, ELK Stack, Tripwire, or SELinux
• Experience with virtualization, containers, and system security practices
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation or scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell)
• Experience in secure or regulated environments
Work Environment:
• May require participation in on-call rotation or shift work
• Work performed in a team-oriented, mission-focused environment

• Salary and responsibilities will align with the selected level
Key Responsibilities (All Levels):
• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
• Manage daily operations of systems including servers, storage, and network devices
• Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability
• Perform system configuration, patching, and upgrades for Windows and/or UNIX/Linux environments
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues and provide timely resolution
• Support users in accessing and utilizing IT systems
• Document system configurations, processes, and issue resolutions
• Support escalation processes and communicate status to stakeholders
• Maintain system security and compliance with organizational standards
Additional Responsibilities by Level:
Level I (Entry/Intermediate):
• Provide Tier 1 and basic Tier 2 support for incident resolution
• Perform routine system maintenance and monitoring
• Follow established procedures and escalate complex issues
Level II (Mid-Level):
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Handle escalated incidents and provide detailed technical feedback
• Optimize system performance and resource utilization
• Support capacity planning and system improvements
Level III (Senior):
• Analyze and resolve complex, multi-system issues
• Support system design, architecture, and integration efforts
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior staff
• Evaluate and implement system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
• Understand and manage system interdependencies across enterprise environments
