Role: IT Project Manager
Precision Solutions | Project: Global Defense
Location: Onsite | Washington, DC | 5 Days a Week
Active TS/SCI Clearance Required
Compensation: Up to $225k + Benefits

Precision Solutions is seeking experienced IT Project Managers to support our client on the Global Defense Group program in Washington, DC. This role will support high visibility communications and IT initiatives for senior government leadership. Candidates will manage multiple projects simultaneously and work as an extension of government Project Managers to ensure critical, no fail initiatives are delivered successfully.
This position requires a strong IT project management background, with a preference for candidates who have supported telecom, communications infrastructure, enterprise IT, or mission critical government technology environments.
Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Continuous Evaluation within the last 5 years. Candidates may also be required to complete an additional government specific clearance process, including the initiation of a new SF 86. Most candidates will likely be processed through contingent offers pending government security approval.
Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted partner to government Project Managers supporting high visibility IT and communications initiatives
Manage complex technical projects across multiple workstreams, engineering teams, and stakeholder groups
Take ownership of project outcomes, timelines, risks, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations
Lead project execution from planning through delivery while ensuring measurable results
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, mission critical environment
Develop and maintain project artifacts including RTMs, IMS schedules, RAID logs, status reports, and governance documentation
Identify project risks, dependencies, blockers, and mitigation strategies
Coordinate across technical teams, government stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership
Support structured governance processes including configuration control boards and technical review boards
Translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable updates for senior leadership
Ensure projects meet operational, compliance, reporting, and mission requirements
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance required
Experience leading complex, enterprise scale IT initiatives in high visibility or mission critical environments
Experience delivering technical projects with significant operational impact, tight timelines, and senior stakeholder scrutiny
Experience managing full project lifecycles across multiple engineering or technical domains
Experience developing and managing project artifacts such as RTMs, IMS schedules, and RAID logs
Experience working within structured governance environments, including configuration control boards and technical review boards
Ability to operate as a senior technical advisor to executive leadership
Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear business and mission decisions
Strong communication, organization, risk management, and stakeholder management skills
Bachelor’s degree in a business field and 8+ years of experience managing IT projects, or 12+ years of IT project management experience in lieu of degree
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting high visibility government programs, including DoD, IC, or other regulated environments
Experience with telecom, communications infrastructure, or enterprise IT programs
Experience supporting programs with strict compliance, reporting, and governance requirements
Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and configuration management processes
Knowledge of cybersecurity compliance standards and best practices
PMP certification
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a business field and 8+ years of experience managing IT projects
OR
12+ years of experience managing IT projects in lieu of degree
Clearance Requirements
