Job Title: RPA Developer
Subtitle: Leveraging UiPath & Power Automate for ACC Mission Success
Location: Langley AFB, Hampton, Virginia – On-site
Type: Direct Hire
Security Clearance: Top Secret
Contact: Crystal.dinnocenti@systemone.com
The Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Developer provides dedicated technical support, development, and advisory services for AI and RPA integration within ACC/A589 classified environments; supports user-driven innovation challenges and in-person facilitation; ensures compliance with cybersecurity, data governance, and network-specific requirements for SIPRNet and AFSCI operations. Designs, prototypes, and deploys automation solutions that directly support Air Combat Command's operational mission. This is a hands-on development role. Write bots, test them with actual users, refine them based on operational feedback, and deliver solutions that Airmen use every day. Measured by throughput: a minimum of three prototypes per quarter and two operational transitions per quarter, working in parallel with another RPA Developer to maintain continuous delivery.
Essential Job Functions:
RPA Prototyping & Development:
• Conduct workflow discovery interviews with ACC A589 personnel to identify automation opportunities
• Assess A589 processes for automation potential using structured intake criteria (inputs, decision points, data sources, manual workload burden)
• Design and develop RPA solutions using UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate on enterprise-approved platforms
• Build functional prototypes within 2-4 week cycles that users can test in realistic A589 mission contexts
• Maintain a personal development pipeline of 2-3 concurrent use cases to sustain quarterly output targets
Iterative Refinement & User Validation:
• Conduct 2-3 iterative refinement cycles with A589 operational users before transitioning solutions
• Incorporate A589 user feedback to improve bot accuracy, reliability, and usability
• Test bots across appropriate classification levels (NIPRNet, SIPRNet, AFSCI as assigned)
• Validate solutions against real operational data and edge cases identified by users
Solution Transition & Sustainment:
• Deliver complete technical documentation including architecture diagrams, configuration details, and data flow specifications
• Create tailored user training packages and operational SOPs for each transitioned workflow
• Develop Government sustainment plans enabling ACC A589 personnel to maintain and enhance solutions independently
• Provide all source code, configuration files, and integration specifications to the Government
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with Government personnel who will sustain the solution
Cross-Wing Scaling & Collaboration:
• Document lessons learned and adaptation guidance for solutions that may benefit other ACC wings
• Collaborate with AI/RPA ACC A589 Solutions Architect to identify cross-wing scaling opportunities
• Contribute to the enterprise solution catalog organized by mission function
• Support mobile training teams during wing visits to demonstrate transitioned RPA capabilities
Working Conditions:
Location and Environment:
• Primary Work Location: Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE), Virginia
• Classified Facilities: Regular work in Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and secure spaces
• Workspace: Government-provided office space in secure facility; access to NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and collaboration tools
• Classified Work: Regular access to classified environments (SIPRNet, AFSCI) required for coordination and stakeholder engagement
Travel Requirements:
Frequency:
• None at this time; however subject to change
Physical Demands:
• Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation
• Visual acuity for detailed technical work and data analysis
• Manual dexterity for typing, coding, and operating computer equipment
Schedule and Availability:
• Core Hours: 0800-1700 EST, Monday-Friday), with occasional extended hours to meet mission deadlines or support operational events
• Flexibility: Occasional early morning or evening meetings to accommodate wing schedules across time zones
• Surge Periods: Increased hours during major milestones, events, or exercises (with advance notice)
Security Environment:
• Work with classified information up to Top Secret/SCI level
• Compliance with OPSEC, CUI handling, and classification protocols
• Subject to security inspections, audits, and continuous evaluation
• Adherence to base access, badge, and facility security requirements
Minimum Qualifications, Certifications, and Platform Credentials:
Required Qualifications:
• TS/SCI Required at start
Experience:
• 3+ years of hands-on RPA solution development and deployment experience
• Proven track record delivering operational RPA bots from discovery through production deployment
• Experience with iterative development methodologies and user-centered design
• Federal government or DoD RPA experience strongly preferred
Certifications (Required):
• UiPath Certified RPA Associate – Required
• Microsoft Power Automate certification – Required
• CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8140.03 baseline) – Required
Certifications (Preferred):
• Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)
• UiPath Advanced RPA Developer
• Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate
Technical Competencies:
• Expert-level proficiency with UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, and Automation Cloud
• Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Power Automate (cloud flows, desktop flows, process advisor)
• Strong understanding of Power Platform ecosystem (Power Apps, Power BI integration)
• Experience with API integration, database connectivity, and data transformation
• Knowledge of both exception handling, logging, and error recovery patterns
• Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines for RPA deployments
Performance Expectations:
Measured against clear, documented output targets:
• Minimum 3 prototypes per quarter (functional bots validated by users in test environments)
• Minimum 2 operational transitions per quarter (bots accepted by COR and integrated into daily operations with full documentation)
• 2-4 week prototyping cycles per solution (from discovery kickoff to user-testable bot)
• 100% documentation compliance (every transitioned solution includes technical specs, user training, SOPs, and sustainment plan)
• These are not stretch goals.
• These are baseline expectations derived from Team Koniag's proven RPA delivery model at other military organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting Air Force or ACC mission sets
• Background in intelligence, ISR, or combat operations workflows
• Familiarity with DoD data governance and security compliance requirements
• Experience developing bots that operate across NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments
• Previous work with Advana, AskSage, or other DoD enterprise platforms
