Position - Operations Chief

Regional Defense Operations Center (RDOC) Marine Corps Installations-West, MCB Camp Pendleton

Position Overview

The Operations Chief manages daily RDOC watch functions, personnel readiness, equipment accountability, and operational continuity. This position ensures consistent situational awareness, adherence to SOPs, and secure operations supporting regional C2 requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage, supervise, and coordinate daily RDOC watch team operations.
  • Track and maintain RDOC equipment and communications systems.
  • Ensure rapid CCIR/SIR notifications and compliance with SOPs.
  • Oversee knowledge management processes, including AMHS message handling.
  • Maintain RDOC cleanliness, security, and operational readiness.
  • Provide personnel training, coaching, and quality control.
  • Support COOP actions, emergency displacement procedures, and surge staffing.
  • Review and validate daily summaries, EXSUM inputs, and operational reports.
  • Coordinate with AT, EM, F&ES, CBRNE, Law Enforcement, and Physical Security stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizen; TS/SCI eligibility required.
  • Bachelor's/graduate degree in relevant field OR unrelated degree + 5 years documented EOC/TOC/JOC/RECC experience.
  • FEMA ICS 100, 300, 700, 800.
  • Demonstrated leadership and operational management experience.
  • Proficiency with EMNS/ALERT!, SIPR/NIPR, SVTC, COP systems, GIS/ArcGIS, MSS, and other RDOC systems.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong supervisory and team-leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, briefing, and technical writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and operational monitoring capability.
