Job Title: Software Engineer (TS/SCI with CI Poly)
Location: Palm Bay, FL (Onsite)
Duration: 12-month Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $55/hr – $67/hr
Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking six (6) Software Engineers to support the design, development, integration, and sustainment of mission-critical software systems in Palm Bay, Florida. This role sits within a secure, high-impact environment supporting classified programs and requires engineers who are comfortable working across a diverse technical stack.
The selected candidates will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, working on a mix of embedded systems, backend services, and web-based applications. Engineers will develop and maintain code using technologies such as C++, Python, JavaScript, and React, while supporting modern, containerized development environments and DevOps-driven workflows.
This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including systems engineering, integration, and program leadership to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing solutions aligned with mission objectives.
Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving software defects, optimizing system performance, and producing technical documentation and engineering artifacts to support system integration, testing, deployment, and long-term sustainment.
This is a fully onsite role and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
4+ years of professional software development experience
Proficiency in one or more of the following: C++, Python, JavaScript
Experience developing software across one or more domains: embedded systems, backend services, or web applications
Experience working in Linux-based environments
Strong understanding of core software engineering practices (version control, debugging, testing, code reviews)
Ability to contribute independently in a secure, mission-focused environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with React or modern JavaScript frameworks
Experience working across both embedded and web-based systems
Familiarity with Docker or containerized development workflows
Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Prior experience supporting classified or mission-critical programs
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
