Overview

Omega Technical Services is seeking qualified Readiness Assurance Professionals to support the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. These positions will provide technical support for projects subject to DOE Order 425.1 and support the evaluation, verification, and documentation of operational readiness requirements necessary to achieve startup authorization for nuclear facilities and projects.

Selected candidates will assist in collecting and evaluating technical evidence, conducting readiness assessments, supporting readiness reviews, developing readiness documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable DOE orders and site procedures. Opportunities may include Readiness Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Readiness Team Leaders, Readiness Team Members, Readiness Associates, and Readiness Training Development/Deployment personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Support operational readiness reviews and startup authorization activities for nuclear facility projects.
  • Collect, evaluate, and document technical evidence demonstrating readiness requirements have been met.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and closure of readiness assessments and reviews.
  • Evaluate compliance with DOE Orders, site procedures, and readiness review requirements.
  • Develop readiness-related documentation, reports, assessments, and corrective action tracking.
  • Participate in readiness review teams and provide technical expertise in assigned functional areas.
  • Support contractor assurance processes and project readiness verification activities.
  • Develop and deliver technical training programs and qualification materials when assigned.
  • Interface with project personnel, engineering organizations, operations staff, and management teams.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with quality assurance, security, and information protection requirements.


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Technical Science, or a related field preferred OR an Associate degree in a technical discipline and relevant experience.


Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active DOE Q Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
  • Experience supporting nuclear operations, engineering, nuclear safety, readiness reviews, startup authorization activities, or related DOE programs.
  • Familiarity with DOE Order 425.1 (Verification of Readiness to Startup or Restart Nuclear Facilities) and readiness review processes.
  • Ability to analyze technical information and evaluate operational readiness requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment supporting complex DOE projects.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DOE Q Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or related technical field.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience leading or supporting readiness efforts resulting in Startup Authorization.
  • Previous experience serving as a Readiness Team Leader on DOE readiness reviews.
  • Experience supporting nuclear facility operations, engineering, conduct of operations, nuclear safety, or startup testing programs.
  • Knowledge of DOE Orders 420.1, 425.1, 426.2, and 413.3.
  • Experience with DOE Standard 3006 and DOE readiness review best practices.
  • Experience designing, developing, or delivering highly technical training curricula resulting in personnel qualification.
  • Previous experience supporting Y-12, NNSA, DOE, or other nuclear facility operations.


Work Schedule

4/10's (10 hours/day; four days per week).
