Database Administrator
Location: San Antonio, TX - 3 days onsite
Clearance: TS/SCI clearance
As a Database Administrator based in San Antonio, TX, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing complex data environments that support critical operations. Your work will involve configuring, maintaining, and securing databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, and Accumulo, ensuring high availability and performance. You will also be tasked with implementing robust backup and recovery strategies, monitoring system health, and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime. Your role will require you to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven applications and ensure compliance with stringent security protocols.
In this position, you will benefit from hands-on experience with distributed file systems like HDFS and big data frameworks such as Hadoop. Exposure to the Spring Framework will be valuable as you integrate database solutions with enterprise applications. To excel, you should have a proven track record working in environments that require a TS clearance and maintain SCI eligibility, as well as a Security+ Certification (or other IAT Level II Compliant Certification). Familiarity with large-scale data management, secure data handling practices, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies will help you thrive in this dynamic and mission-critical setting.
Responsibilities:
Manage, maintain, and optimize databases including Postgres, MongoDB, and Accumulo to ensure high availability and performance
Administer and support HDFS and Hadoop environments for large-scale data storage and processing
Implement and monitor database security protocols in compliance with TS clearance and SCI eligibility requirements
Collaborate with development teams utilizing the Spring Framework to integrate and support database solutions
Perform regular database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
Monitor database performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to improve efficiency
Ensure compliance with Security+ certification standards and organizational security policies
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and service requests
Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices for ongoing operations
1 to 5 years of experience

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $85,000 - $120,000/YR (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
