PROJECT MANAGER - SOCOM J6

Location: MacDill AFB, FL - 100% Onsite

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Project Manager position is based out of MacDill AFB, FL and supports the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified client-facing manager to lead strategic projects supporting the Command's mission requirements. This position is responsible for project oversight, execution, stakeholder coordination, and delivery of high-quality products and services to the Government customer. The Project Manager will be accountable for customer satisfaction and successful project outcomes while collaborating with technical teams, Government stakeholders, and contractor personnel.

• Manage assigned projects through the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, and closeout activities.
• Manage project requirements, scope, schedule, budget, risks, deliverables, and performance metrics.
• Coordinate activities among Government stakeholders, technical teams, subcontractors, and project personnel to ensure successful project delivery.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, action item trackers, risk registers, and status reports.
• Support technology modernization and mission-focused initiatives by facilitating coordination between technical subject matter experts and Government leadership.
• Assist in proposing, implementing, and enforcing Government policies, standards, methodologies, and best practices.
• Develop mitigation strategies, resolve project issues, and support successful execution of project objectives.
• Manage technical, financial, administrative, and customer satisfaction aspects of assigned projects using established processes and tools.
• Coordinate delivery, installation, implementation, and transition activities for new products, services, and initiatives as required.
• Provide project status updates, executive summaries, progress reviews, and briefings to Government leadership.
• Draft and review briefs, reports, talking papers, project documentation, and strategic communications materials.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration across multiple organizations to ensure timely, accurate, and transparent information sharing.
• Support requirements gathering, project planning, resource coordination, and change management activities.
• Assist in the development and review of Statements of Work (SOWs), Performance Work Statements (PWSs), project deliverables, and other program documentation as required.
• Measure project performance using appropriate tools, reports, and techniques and escalate issues to leadership when necessary.
• Manage customer and stakeholder relationships while ensuring responsiveness to mission requirements.
• Perform risk management activities to identify, assess, and minimize project risks.
• Maintain project documentation and records in accordance with contract and organizational requirements.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and successful project execution.
• Work hours: Core hours are in accordance with Command operating hours, Monday through Friday. As required, support weekends, extended hours, and on-call mission requirements.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.

EXPERIENCE:

• 8+ years of project management, program management, contract management, operations management, or related experience supporting Federal Government, Department of Defense, or complex enterprise organizations.
• 3+ years of Department of Defense experience preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
• Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and facilitating collaboration among Government, contractor, and technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with enterprise information technology environments, infrastructure modernization efforts, cybersecurity initiatives, or systems implementation projects.
• Experience developing, reviewing, or managing project documentation, including reports, briefings, SOWs, PWSs, contract deliverables, or similar program artifacts.
• Working knowledge of Federal acquisition processes, contract administration, and Government customer engagement is preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, ITIL, or similar project management methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Project).
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Program Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Additional years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
