• Duration: long term, ongoing contract – we are a direct sub to the C2BMC program
• Clearance: Secret, will hold TS if you have it
• Program – C2BMC
"This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for software development in Java for the Systems Architecture (Sys-Ar) of the Regional Applications teams in Huntsville, AL. Under direction, provides experience across multiple systems and software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, application implications, and customer areas. Responsible for analyzing and providing technical support for systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. Maintains currency, debugs, and configures related software products. Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications. Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs. Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the overall efficiency of the operating system. Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases.
Essential Functions:
• Will be responsible for software development in Java for the Systems Architecture (Sys-Ar) of the Regional Applications teams in Huntsville, AL
• Under direction, provides experience across multiple systems and software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, applications, implications, and customer areas
• Responsible for analyzing and providing technical support for systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support
• Maintains currency, debugs, and configures related software products
• Works from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
• Assists with the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
• Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the operating system's overall efficiency
• Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases
Basic Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 0 years of relevant work experience; or 6 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
• Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
• Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
• Understanding of software engineering and software development, with Java/J2EE experience or equivalent OO development experience (additional C++ experience also desired)
• Knowledge of software practices such as coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration management
• Must have oral, written, and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Understanding of standard systems engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
• Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience also desired)
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and/or build management
• Willingness to take on unanticipated tasking
• Familiarity with common software development and management tools such as Maven, Git/GitHub, Nexus, and Eclipse"
