Job Description

ARS has an immediate opening for an experienced Program Manager who will be primarily responsible for supporting the Air Force Institute of Technology School of Civilian Institution Programs (AFIT/CI) at WPAFB, OH.

AFIT/CI is the Air Force’s professional arm managing and providing administrative control and funding support to Air Force and Space Force officers, enlisted, and civilians selected to complete advanced academic and professional degrees, fellowships with industry partners, and medical professional residencies in sister services, federal agencies, and non-federal educational programs located in the United States and abroad. Additionally, AFIT/CI funds the Air Force Medical Command (AFMED) Health Professions Loan Repayment Program. Each year, the Civilian Institution Programs Directorate supports over 2,500 active duty and reserve officers enrolled in educational programs nationwide and overseas and evaluates and processes loan repayments for over 45 participants in the Health Professions Loan Repayment Program. The Directorate's advanced academic degrees, fellowships, and medical professional residencies range in length anywhere from ten months to seven years and are conducted in primarily traditional face-to-face, brick and mortar campus classroom and business industry settings.

Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for managing graduate professional officer enrollments in a variety of academic specialties, assisting officers with education program location selection when required, preparing permanent change of station relocation guidance, providing support to students during entire program life-cycle, assists with preparing periodic and annual evaluations on enrolled students, provides support in evaluating student academic and travel requirements, creating and producing management reports on enrollment statistics, and otherwise assists and supports the Graduate Education Division.
  • Identify any academic or professional military conflicts that arise and coordinate with the division chief or their designee.
  • Create and maintain electronic and paper records in compliance with the approved AFRIMS. Retention and disposition schedules will be followed for proper and timely destruction. Program execution statistics and any enrollment completion records necessary for annual programming decisions within AFIT, Air University, or other Headquarters-level agencies, are provided to the responsible authorities when requested.
  • Assist the Graduate Education Division leadership and budget analyst with development, administration, consolidation, and analysis of program enrollment and financial data.
  • Monitor content on the AFIT/CI student portal and identify errors and recommend changes when appropriate.
  • Handle any other application or enrollment management related issues which present themselves during the execution of the program or assigned duties.
  • Provide a wide range of other administrative support services to the AFIT/CIG staff in support of programs managed by the division to include, but not limited to:
    • Providing administrative support with various organizational databases
    • Assisting with reports and presentation formatting (i.e., Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Excel, PDF, or other formats).
    • Assisting with ordering office supplies and preparing lists for supplies/equipment to be procured by the Government office.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance
  • BS/BA degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Education, or Healthcare Management
  • Five years of experience in higher education administration
