Job Description
AMO is looking for a Deputy Program Manager to work in North Charleston, SC. The Deputy Program Manager (PM) leads execution of programs supporting Advanced Amphibious Assault capabilities for the U.S. Marine Corps. This role is responsible for delivering complex engineering, integration, and fielding efforts that enhance operational readiness and mission effectiveness in expeditionary environments.
Supports management of large and/or complex programs to ensure implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives. Assists with oversight of program execution, operational coordination, staffing, financial management, and customer engagement activities to ensure successful delivery. Supports planning, scope definition, execution, integration, and reporting activities across the program. Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators while assisting with preparation of reports and briefings for senior leadership and Government stakeholders.
This role works closely with the Program Manager to help ensure all program objectives are achieved across cost, schedule, and performance while maintaining strong Government relationships and disciplined operational and financial management.

Responsibilities
Program Execution & Coordination
- Support day-to-day program execution across engineering, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment activities
- Assist with management of cost, schedule, performance, staffing, and risk across the program
- Coordinate activities across cross-functional teams, fielding efforts, and subcontractors
- Help maintain integrated program plans, schedules, staffing plans, and performance metrics
- Ensure action items, deliverables, and operational priorities are tracked and executed
Customer Engagement
- Support engagement with Government stakeholders including KO, COR, PMs, operational leads, and technical representatives
- Participate in program reviews, readiness events, status meetings, and customer briefings
- Assist in preparing data-driven updates on program performance, risks, staffing, and operational status
- Help coordinate responses to Government inquiries, tasking, and evolving mission requirements
Financial Management & Invoicing Support
- Assist with monitoring program financial performance, forecasting, and burn rate analysis
- Support accurate and timely invoicing in WAWF/PIEE in accordance with contract requirements
- Track monthly spend by CLIN/SLIN/ACRN to help ensure proper funding alignment
Assist with maintaining visibility into obligations, expenditures, funding status, and remaining balances - Support reconciliation efforts across eCRAFT, invoices, subcontractor costs, and internal financial reporting
- Help identify and resolve funding, billing, or execution discrepancies proactively
Technical & Operational Oversight
- Support oversight of integrated engineering, testing, deployment, and sustainment activities
- Coordinate with technical leads to ensure successful execution of program objectives
- Assist with tracking system integration, test events, fielding activities, and operational readiness efforts
- Support compliance with DoD cybersecurity, safety, engineering, and quality standards
- Help drive continuous improvement across operational and program management processes
Team & Resource Management
- Assist with coordination of program personnel, technical leads, subcontractors, and support staff
- Help ensure staffing levels, qualifications, onboarding, and performance expectations are maintained
- Promote a culture of accountability, responsiveness, collaboration, and mission focus
- Support subcontractor coordination, deliverable tracking, and integration activities
Quality, Compliance & Risk Management
- Support adherence to contract requirements, quality standards, reporting requirements, and audit readiness
- Assist with maintaining strong CPARS performance through responsive customer support and disciplined execution
- Help identify, track, assess, and mitigate program risks across operational and technical areas
- Support compliance with security, clearance, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- *Active Secret clearance is required for consideration*
- 8+ years of program management experience supporting DoD programs
- Bachelor's degree required; PMP preferred
- Experience managing large-scale engineering, integration, or fielding programs
- Strong experience with invoicing and financial management at the CLIN/SLIN/ACRN level
- Familiarity with WAWF/PIEE, eCRAFT, and DoD financial processes
- Experience supporting ground vehicle, amphibious, or C5ISR systems (preferred)
