Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Security Integration Engineer - Secret Clearance for a world leading technology organization in the Raleigh Durham, North Carolina area. The Security Integration Engineer - Secret Clearance role is an onsite in office role focused within a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment and supports the integration and optimization of security platforms that enable effective detection, investigation, and response to security events. An ideal candidate for the Security Integration Engineer - Secret Clearance role is a hands-on security engineer who thrives at the intersection of SOC operations, data quality, threat intelligence, and automation.
Responsibilities of the Security Integration Engineer - Secret Clearance:
• Integrate and maintain SOC security platforms including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Design and manage security data pipelines to improve log fidelity, normalization, enrichment, and overall data quality.
• Operationalize threat intelligence by integrating internal and external intelligence sources into SOC tooling and workflows.
• Build automation and orchestration workflows that accelerate detection, investigation, and response while reducing analyst manual effort.
• Partner closely with SOC analysts to translate operational requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
• Develop, tune, and maintain detections, alerts, and response playbooks to improve SOC effectiveness and signal-to-noise ratio.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to platform integrations, APIs, and automation failures across the security stack.
• Document integrations, architectures, and operational processes to support long-term sustainment.
Qualifications of the Security Integration Engineer - Secret Clearance:
• 5+ years of experience in SOC engineering, security integration, or security platform engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience integrating SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, or similar) and SOAR technologies.
• Strong understanding of security telemetry, log sources, and event data across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Experience operationalizing threat intelligence and working with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Proficiency with scripting or automation languages such as Python, PowerShell, or similar.
• Experience working with APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.
• Active Secret clearance required, with the ability to maintain clearance.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with SOC analysts and stakeholders.
Compensation for the Security Integration Engineer - Secret Clearance includes:
• Salary range: $125,000 - $165,000
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave as required by law
