Engr 3, Product Development - GIE EPI Contractor Engineer 3
Location: El Paso, TX 79912 | Onsite, 5 days/week | Contractor | Up to $60/hr
About the Role
Join a dynamic medical device and pharmaceutical engineering team driving innovation in product development and new product transfers. As an Engr 3, Product Development, you will lead critical technical projects, directly impacting manufacturing excellence and product quality. This is a key onsite role offering exposure to high-impact projects and collaboration with top-tier professionals.
Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate technical support for new product introductions and development projects
• Manage supplier relationships for custom equipment and tooling manufacturing
• Oversee equipment/tooling purchase, delivery, installation, and qualification
• Develop and execute process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ, PPQ) and test method validations
• Create, review, and issue SOPs and manufacturing procedures
• Conduct manufacturing line design, capacity analysis, and DOE (Design of Experiments)
• Prepare documentation and justification for capital projects
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, ISO, EHS, and quality standards
• Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives
• Execute additional engineering duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (oral and written)
• 12 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in medical device or pharmaceutical industries
• Expertise in manufacturing, product/process development, and new product transfers
• Strong technical writing, documentation, and statistical analysis skills
• Proficiency with MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Minitab
• Knowledge of GMP, ISO, EHS, and statistical regulations
• Hands-on experience with equipment/tooling design and preventive maintenance procedure generation
Preferred Skills
• Lean/Six Sigma training or certification
• Project Management certification
• Engineering Board Certification (EIT/PE)
• Experience with OEE integration, vertical startup, and zero-loss methodologies
