• 10+ years of professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer supporting the design, development, production, or testing of electronic, electromechanical, and/or hydro-electronic systems
• Experience conducting thermal analysis and executing Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) in accordance with applicable military standards
• Proficiency in CAD tools, including AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, with demonstrated expertise in 3D modeling, Bills of Materials (BOM) development, and evaluating cost and quality considerations
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience supporting DoD/Navy programs
• Familiarity with MIL-STD environmental requirements

Insight Global is seeking a qualified Secret Senior Mechanical Engineer in support of one of our large federal clients in Virginia Beach, VA. This candidate will support program initiatives and be responsible for designing and documenting mechanical and electromechanical systems for naval applications. Their day to day will include developing technical drawings, analyzing performance requirements, supporting testing efforts, and ensuring designs are manufacturable and mission-ready. A qualified candidate will have strong experience in electromechanical design, CAD modeling, and environmental testing.
• Design and document mechanical and electromechanical components and systems.
• Develop comprehensive engineering drawing packages, including Level-3 drawings, block diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing and assembly documentation, 3D models, renderings, and installation plans using Autodesk Inventor.
• Analyze specifications and performance requirements to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable using existing processes.
• Evaluate the feasibility of new or modified components, considering cost, space constraints, timelines, and technical or economic factors.
• Conduct independent research and analysis of customer design proposals, specifications, and technical documentation to determine application viability.
• Produce detailed technical drawings and documentation packages leveraging extensive engineering expertise.
Compensation: $100k - $140k
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
