Minimum Qualifications:
One year of specialized experience which includes; 1.) Experience with civilian Emergency Management programs (such as natural disaster response teams, mobilization, worldwide contingency operations); AND 2.) Experience with coordinating groups and individuals to plan for readiness and response operations.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Additional information
- Responsible for planning, developing, recommending, implementing, and providing staff action for both emergency flood control and other natural disaster activities.
- Direct all Omaha District activities in support of the Corps emergency management (EM) mission under its own authorities, in support of other agencies.
- Manage the Omaha District's Inspection of Completed Works Program, inspection of eligible non-Federal projects under the auspices of Public Law (PL) 84-99, and the rehabilitation of damaged Flood Control Works.
- Ensure District personnel are trained and that resources are in place to support effective emergency response and recovery activities.
- Manage multifaceted programs and direct work of diverse engineering, scientific and support disciplines.
