The Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a focus on application packaging to join our NTCSS team at Norfolk Va. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application packaging, automation, and cybersecurity compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Engineer mission-critical deployment packages containing IAVA patches, OS updates, security fixes, and applications for VMware environments supporting worldwide naval logistics operations
• Build intelligent automation using AutoIt, Python, and PowerShell to streamline complex installations and reduce deployment timelines
• Own the complete package lifecycle-from dependency analysis and registry modifications to installation workflows and production validation-where attention to detail counts
• Administer secure virtualized infrastructures across Type-1 and Type-2 hypervisors, integrating advanced scripting to streamline system provisioning and Windows Group Policy enforcement.
• Implement network-level controls (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) while maintaining high-availability environments supporting mission-critical DoD systems.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive system efficiency and strengthen cybersecurity posture.

Qualifications:
• Skills: Proficiency in writing code in supported programming or scripting languages (Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Perl, Python, PowerShell, VMware PowerCLI, Shell script). Knowledge of computer networking fundamentals including network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS. Experience with Cisco networking hardware or equivalent, along with routing and switching concepts. Windows OS Deployment package creation (MDT experience a plus), Veeam Backup and Replication for VM troubleshooting.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with a Master's degree or 8 years with a Bachelor's degree in computer design, software design, development, and testing or computer networks.
• Specific Experience: Five (5) years of technical experience in support of a DoD Business IT supply, logistics, maintenance, and/or personnel administration system for aviation, afloat, or shore activities.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science; Software Engineering or computer-related degrees preferred.
• Citizenship: US Citizenship
• Clearance: Active Secret clearance (ability to obtain T5)
• Certification(Required): DoD 8570 IAT Level 2+ certification (Security+, Network+, CISSP) or ability to obtain
• Other Certifications: Must hold relevant certifications such as Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)/Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or vendor/platform-specific certifications like Microsoft role-based certifications, Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), etc.
Desired:
• Knowledge of and/or experience in AutoIT highly desired
• Knowledge of and/or experience in SAP Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise highly desired
