Basic Requirement:
Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study - accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position. For Marine Transportation Specialist positions, education obtained in a Federal, State, or other accredited Merchant Marine Academy is qualifying.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
If you are currently stationed in the overseas area, all of your overseas time will be credited toward your current overseas tour end date. Your overseas time served will not reset upon accepting this assignment. If you have returned from OCONUS within the past 2 years or less, your time previously served in the OCONUS area will be credited to your 5 year overseas rotation upon accepting this assignment.

Additional information
- Plans and directs all ocean terminal operations to include vessel discharge/loading operations, cargo staging, cargo onward movement and terminal break bulk point and ammunition operations.
- Develops or modifies procedures devised to improve common user water terminals used by the military in the Republic of Korea.
- Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets priorities, and establishes schedules for work capabilities of employees.
- Serves as primary coordinator between contract personnel and the Battalion to ensure availability, proper use of government furnished lashing gear, equipment and dunnage.
- Participates in theater contingency transportation planning
- Serves as the commander's advisor on all operational safety matters
