Job Description
DCS has an exciting opportunity for a Security Assistant providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center-Ground Base Air Defense Sensor division (AFLCMC/ESG).
The ESG Division manages efforts focused on developing, acquiring, fielding and sustaining programs that support worldwide communications, Battle Management, Command & Control, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C2ISR), Air/Ground Surveillance, Time Critical Targeting, Combat Identification, Radar Imagery, Integrated Air/Missile Defense, and Mobile/Fixed C2ISR Performance, Exploitation & Dissemination Facilities.
This is a full-time position located at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts.
Essential Job Functions:
• Provide technical security advice and support for collateral programs and, when required, SCI programs.
• Maintain strong working relationships with IP leads, program managers, contracting officers, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent protection integration throughout the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle.
• Develop and write OPSEC plans, transition plans, emergency action plans, transportation plans, and other required security documents.
• Review program documents for public release, ensuring proper CUI markings, classifications, and distribution statements, and provide accurate feedback to IP leads.
• Provide classification guidance and support for collateral and SCI programs as needed.
• Advise personnel on counterintelligence threats and trends.
• Assist in developing Security Classification Guides, Program Protection Plans, SOPs, DD Form 254s, and other key acquisition/security documents.
• Conduct classification reviews of inbound and outbound correspondence.
• Prepare, process, ship, receive, and distribute classified mail under an accountable mailing program.
• Prepare classified packages, courier forms, and maintain associated receipt records.
• Perform destruction of classified materials and CUI.
• Provide reproduction support for classified materials in paper and electronic formats.
• Review, track, and monitor security clearances in DISS to ensure personnel are properly accounted for and meet personnel security standards.
• Ensure personnel security clearances and access requirements are current; identify missing SF-312/NDAs and alert IP leads.
• Prepare, process, and review Visitor Access Requests (VARs) for accuracy and eligibility; ensure timely visit certifications.
• Research, process, file, and maintain inbound and outbound VAR notices.
• Input foreign visits and contacts into DISS upon receiving self-reports.
• Assist IP Security Offices with initiating e-QIP/SF-86s and performing military/government civilian fingerprinting.
• Support inspection preparations, including artifact creation for MICT or other inspection systems.
• Conduct entry/exit inspections and support random anti-terrorism measures as directed.
• Assist with facility access control, including visitor escorting, badge creation, issuance, and tracking.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of the customer, U.S. citizenship is required.
Must have and be able to maintain a Secret Clearance
Bachelor's and 5 years of experience or master's and 4 years of experience in a related field and at least three years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, three of which must be in the DoD.
Understanding of counterintelligence threats and trends.
Familiar with security policy/manuals and the appropriate DoD and Air Force directives, manuals and instructions.
Familiarity with DISS.
Basic knowledge of the DD Form 254 and how it is incorporated in the Air Force acquisition process.
Demonstrated maturity and ability in handling sensitive information regarding acquisition programs, exercises, personal matters of a potential derogatory nature, or military activities with discretion and sound judgement.
Must be willing to adapt to contingency schedule if required by unit in unusual cases of emergency or critical mission support need.
Must be able to identify classified documents/information and know proper safeguarding.
Must complete all required security training in accordance with DoD and Air Force regulations for those filling the role of security assistant.
Salary Range $66,511- $110,000
