System Administrator -
3 Year Renewable Contract - TS/SCI Clearance
The company develops, builds, and operates prototype space and airborne lasercom terminals. The client is in need of a Sr. Linux System Administrator to support both classified/unclassified development, implement and enhance critical infrastructure and support end user workstations.
Responsibilities:
Perform various system administration duties in multiple physical and virtual Linux environments. Build and manage authentication, file-share, and other collaboration servers to support groups of heterogeneous client systems. Assist in design, implementation, support, and troubleshooting Linux issues relating to performance, compliance and security hardening. The ideal candidate will have a deep understating of Linux concepts, including file system management, service management, and interfacing with third party hardware. This candidate must also have a fundamental understanding of storage administration, virtualization technologies and basic networking concepts. The ideal candidate will see tasks through to completion under minimal supervision while also providing server and desktop level support to the group as well as various programs/projects
Experience (6+ years) implementing and supporting Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS/Fedora preferred) :
• Experience implementing and supporting Linux in R&D Lab environment( IE- troubleshooting third party Linux drivers)
• Experience managing RedHat Satellite
• Experience managing CheckMK
• Experience implementing and utilizing DevOps CM toolsets (Puppet, Ansible, etc.)
• Experience migrating various distributions and versions under one umbrella
• Proven ability to automate tasks, build, and develop scripts (language agnostic)
• Knowledge of account management using OpenLDAP, SSSD, IPA/IDM etc
• Demonstrated troubleshooting of complex/distributed networks and systems (logs, dmesg etc.)
• Detailed knowledge of Linux security hardening principles and best practices (STIGs, RMF, NISPOM, CMMC, etc.)
• Experience providing system and hardware level support on Dell Server/Desktop technology as well as end user support
• Proven ability to learn and implement unfamiliar technologies
• Research into new technologies that can enhance productivity for us or our customers
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
• Document IT procedures

-Due to the nature of the work, candidate must possess TS/SCI in order to be submitted.
-Candidate should expect to be onsite 4 days/wk to work on classified tasks, with one day remote
