To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 level in the Federal Service performing the following duties: 1) Enforcing laws, regulations, policies, standards or procedures; 2) Planning and prioritizing work assignments; 3) Overseeing a workforce that ensures security and safety; and 4) Completing checklists and contingency actions in responding to incidents, emergencies, or hostile/potentially hostile actions.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).

Additional information
- Ensure assigned personnel properly execute law enforcement.
- Investigate circumstances where criminal threat may exist.
- Oversee subordinates to ensure tasks are completed.
- Control installation access and security of the installation.
- Prevent, detect and investigate violations of law, rules and regulations.
- Arrest/apprehend persons committing or suspected of committing crimes on the installation.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations or statutes.
- Successfully graduated form the United States Army Civilian Police Academy or within 12 months of appointment.
- Must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations or statutes.
- Must meet the requirements of AR 190-56
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical evaluation
- Must pass a physical agility test (PAT) within 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter
- Successfully complete and maintain a pre-employment physical and annually thereafter
- Maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
- Pre-employment and Random Drug Testing is required.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
- This position is designated mission essential.
- Must possess or be able to obtain, and maintain, a valid state issued driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Must work rotating shifts to include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Official Temporary Duty (TDY ) up to 10% of the time may be required.
- Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
