Field Service Engineer (TS/SCI) – Nationwide Travel (CONUS/OCONUS)
Location: Nationwide (Travel Role)
Clearance Required: TS/SCI or TS with SCI Eligibility
Compensation: $40–$55/hr (depending on experience)
Employment Type: Contract (with potential for extension/conversion)
Overview
Insight Global is seeking a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to support a large-scale DoD telecommunications and network program. This is a high-travel, hands-on role supporting deployment and sustainment of critical network infrastructure across military and government sites both CONUS and OCONUS.
This position is ideal for candidates with field deployment experience who enjoy working onsite, performing installations, and taking systems from initial survey through full operational acceptance.
What You’ll Be Doing
Conduct site surveys to evaluate infrastructure, power, and installation requirements
Develop technical installation packages (TSIPs, MOPs, MBOMs, engineering documentation)
Perform hands-on installation including rack/stack, cabling, patch panels, and hardware integration
Support cutovers, activations, deactivations, and system migrations
Configure and troubleshoot Cisco and Juniper network equipment
Execute installation test & acceptance (IT&A) and validate system performance
Maintain accurate documentation, redlines, and site closeout packages
Coordinate with customers, engineers, and site personnel to ensure successful deployments
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance OR TS with SCI eligibility
Security+ certification (IAT Level II or higher)
Willingness to travel 80–90% (CONUS & OCONUS)
6+ years of experience in network/telecom installation or field deployment work
Hands-on experience with:
Cisco and/or Juniper routers and switches
Network installation, cabling, and hardware integration
Experience performing site surveys and building Bills of Materials (MBOMs/BOMs)
Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and configurations
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DISN / DRSN or other DoD network environments
Background in SATCOM, RF, or transport networks
Familiarity with BICSI, Telcordia, or structured cabling standards
Experience creating MOPs, TSIPs, and turnover/acceptance documentation
