DoDI 8570 IAM Level III/ IAT Level III Certification
BS and 8-12 years of prior experience, add'l experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Knowledge of NIST SP 800-37, CNSSI 1253, FIPS 199 and NIST SP 800-53
Experience in Risk Management-Experience doing Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) tracking
Experience with DOD eMASS and the Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation processes
Knowledge of the DoD Risk Assessment Methodology (DRAM)
Expert in creating presentations and presenting policies, guidance, and procedures regularity
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Knowledge of cloud environments, common vulnerabilities, and technologies.
Experience with tools such as ACAS, and Splunk.
Job Description
An employer is looking for a ISSM to sit 100% on site in Arlington, VA. The Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) is responsible for overseeing and strengthening the cybersecurity posture of classified and unclassified systems supporting the mission partners. This role leads Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities, ensures compliance with RMF, NIST, STIG, and JSIG standards, and assesses system vulnerabilities to implement effective risk mitigation strategies. The ISSM coordinates contingency planning, disaster recovery, and configuration management efforts; provides cyber situational awareness and actionable recommendations; and advises on secure system changes in accordance with DoD directives. Additionally, the ISSM develops security training and awareness programs, delivers cybersecurity briefings to senior leadership, and supports continuous improvements in monitoring, automation, and security enforcement capabilities.
Compensation:
$72/hr to $82/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
