The Opportunity:
Work on a multi-contractor team to design, develop, and maintain a modern web application that enables space operators to analyze large amounts of data in a timely manner to facilitate decision making.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing, developing, operating and maintaining software to be applied to and integrated with solutions or products that also encompass non-information technology related engineering or scientific disciplines. These solutions or products may require aerospace, communications, or cyber domain knowledge to design, develop, and support software components embedded within them. Apply the appropriate software standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system life cycle to support the generation of multi-disciplinary solutions and products such as simulations of engineering and scientific problems. Interfaces with application users and other technical and support personnel.
In this role, you may be involved in:
• Supporting efforts to containerize, test, and deploy services
• Assisting the program team to provide demonstrations to stakeholders
• Investigating and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel
• Providing support to system maintainers for investigation of operational issues
• Interfacing with other systems via RESTful API
• Developing small-scope applications that integrate with a larger system
Candidate should have experience in Java development utilizing various libraries such as SpringBoot, Mockito, Lombok, OpenAPI (Swagger) and other similar libraries developing RESTFul services. The software application is managed through Git and built using gradle. Other third-party applications that are utilized is Kafka, MongoDB, ActiveMQ and/or NiFi. Applications are containerized and deployed to a Kubernetes cluster using Helm Charts. Experiences with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is also desired.

• Experience with the following:
• Java, SpringBoot
• Demonstrated seasoned technical individual contributions
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address difficult and sometimes complex problems
• Ability to articulate design concepts and technology benefits to influence others regarding system design, solutions, and procedures
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field
• 5 years of related work experience.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies
• Ability to break down high-level tasking into smaller units of work and self-manage development progress in working toward set deadlines
• Ability to coach and review the work of lower level professionals
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Time management and organizational skills
• Understanding of repeatable automated processes for building an application, testing it, documenting it, and deploying it at scale
Desired:
• AWS certification
• Experience with Scrum teams and use of continuous integration tools and techniques
• Experience with development tools such as Git / Bitbucket, Confluence / Jira
• Experience with third-party applications such as Kafka, MongoDB, ActiveMQ, NiFi, Mockito, Lombok, and/or OpenAPI (Swagger)
• Can manage projects / processes as needed
