Duties
***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP***
The primary purpose of the position is to serve as a Special Security Representative (SSR) in support of the Special Security Officer (SSO). Performs the day-to-day operational duties within the SCIF in support of all SCI-associated security programs and measures. Provides detailed research and analysis on physical, information, computer, and personnel security. This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.
Implements policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources. Functions as a technical specialist on all SCI security matters as well as other areas of classified security and classification guidance.
Implements policies and procedures for accomplishment of SCI protection and security. Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies Presidential Executive Orders, Director Central Intelligence Directives (DCIDs), Defense Intelligence Agency Manuals, DoD Manuals, military component manuals and instructions, and local Operating Instructions.
Controls all collateral and SCI classified information and material within the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) affecting the Unit's mission. Ensures SCIFs comply with all applicable construction and physical requirements, standards, and regulations as delineated by higher headquarters.
Implements the SCI security clearance program for all assigned personnel, ensuring all required clearances are up-to-date and completed. Tracks and administers SCI clearances for all inprocessing personnel to ensure mission readiness.
Provides oversight of unit and 550 security self-inspections and presents detailed and comprehensive reports with corrective action taken to the unit intelligence commander/SIC. Follows-up to ensure complete and quality resolution of discrepancies.

MILITARY GRADE: E5-O2
Selectee(s) must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective date of placement into the technician position to ensure to avoid grade inversion, as determined by the Human Resources Office (HRO). The applicant must have knowledge of Army security concepts, principles, and practices required to review, independently analyze, and resolve complex security issues that involve personnel from various functional program managers. The applicant must have knowledge of authority and Use of Force legal issues regarding conflicting local, state and federal security laws. Can use skills to control or eliminate issues; proven techniques may be adapted to eliminate or minimize high-risk situations.
Education
You must meet the following Education requirement to qualify for education in lieu of specialized experience for this position:
master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related
