The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for a proven, high-performing leader to take ownership of a team of Background Investigators at our Virtual Investigations Operations Center in Tampa, FL. This is not a remote role. This is a daily, onsite leadership position for someone who leads from the front, thrives in a fast-paced operational environment, and holds themselves and their team to the highest standards of quality and accountability.
If you are a credentialed investigative professional with demonstrated supervisory instincts, deep subject matter expertise, and a track record of driving team performance, we want to talk to you.
Prerequisite: You must currently be customer credentialed with a minimum of 18 consecutive months of continuous service on this contract.
This role is accountable - not advisory. You will be directly responsible for the day-to-day execution, performance, and routine of your team. Expectations include:
Operations & Performance
- Maintain a daily physical presence at CACI's Virtual Investigations Operations Center in Tampa, FL. This is a non-negotiable requirement of the role.
- Manage and prioritize the team's caseload in real time, ensuring timely and accurate case closure
- Drive achievement of all established statistical and performance metrics; leverage data to continuously improve team efficiency
- Oversee all management related elements including timecards and overtime management
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Background Investigators as a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the federal investigation process
- Serve as the primary coach and escalation point for investigative quality, technique, and compliance
- Identify performance gaps early and implement corrective action with consistency and fairness
- Act as an advocate and intermediary between investigators and upper management
Compliance & Accountability
- Ensure full understanding and adherence to all policies, procedures, and customer requirements across your team
- Implement and track disciplinary actions in alignment with expectations
- Respond with urgency and accuracy to leadership inquiries regarding case status, report quality, personnel actions, and timekeeping

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work-related and/or military experience and a minimum of 3 years related work experience
- Current customer credential with a minimum of 18 consecutive months of continuous service on this contract
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision while being physically present at the designated onsite location
- Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching, and process execution
Security Clearance:
- Must possess a favorable determination based on a T5 investigation from the customer
Relocation Assistance:
- For the right candidate, up to $10,000 in relocation expenses will be considered.
