BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Specialized experience including technical work in the areas such as: drafting, surveying construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems.
OR
Experience in a trade or craft that work required intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents for example trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as: a Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes or an Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated.
OR
Certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies, an organization sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: collecting attribute data and entering data into GIS, assimilating new data holdings by digitizing/scanning existing drawings, aerial photographs and maps and using global positioning systems (GPS), converting GIS data to CAD files, PDF and other formats, and ensure all GIS layers are sync'd with real property database of records and all real property unit identification codes (RPUID) matches.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone --no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Additional information
- Serves as the data manager and Data Base Administrator (DBA) for the Geographic Information System (GIS) for the US Army Garrison, Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Adelphi Laboratory Center (ALC), and Blossom Point Research Facility (BPRF).
- The incumbent is the garrison Subject Matter Expert (SME) and program administrator for the GIS enterprise database.
- Assisting customers in development of new GIS data layers.
- preparing and managing contracts to develop, populate, and maintain the GIS database
- Provides customer support for the implementation of cloud-based systems as well as stand-alone CPUs
- Develops GIS procedures, plans and assists with developing division processes and workflows.

- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires employee to work under adverse environmental conditions and as such may potentially be exposed to hazardous and toxic substances and environment.
- Must have successfully completed the Inter-service Resident Range Safety Course(Intermediate) within 6 months of hire date.
- This position is approved for Hazardous Duty Pay and the incumbent may be eligible for hazard duty pay differential when assigned to work in an area approved for hazardous duty pay.
