Network Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a Network Engineer to join a team of technical professionals supporting multiple government programs. This role involves the planning, design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of multi-platform, multi-system networks. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver, an effective communicator, and a collaborative team player who thrives in technically challenging environments supporting U.S. Marine Corps and Navy missions.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide on-call and hands-on (“touch labor”) support for sustained network operations
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the sustainment of Marine Corps and coalition networks
• Support planning, design, implementation, and optimization of network infrastructure
• Analyze requirements and troubleshoot complex network issues to ensure optimal performance
• Collaborate with technical teams, SMEs, and program leadership to support mission objectives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Required Certification: CompTIA Security+
• Desired Certifications: CCENT, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CISSP
• Experience supporting U.S. Marine Corps garrison and tactical networks
• Ability to work in a secure, mission‑critical environment
• Must reside locally near Camp Lejeune, NC
Nice‑to‑Have Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience with network architectures and security appliances
• Installation, configuration, and support of network hardware and appliances
• Proven expertise configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN gateways
• Experience with DoD STIG compliance and SCAP scanning
• Strong background in network analysis, design, capacity planning, and throughput optimization
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical SMEs and Program Managers (verbal and written)
• Availability for on-call support for both CONUS and OCONUS operations
• Experience with technologies including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Aruba, and Cisco ISE
