ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, MAINTENANCE III
CCF, Eglin AFB, FL

GRADE: Non-Exempt; Regular Full-time
LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL - On Site

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be familiar with RF principles and able to use applicable test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, frequency counters, etc. Must be able to read technical data and schematic diagrams without assistance. Must have a working knowledge of radio operations. Applicants must be able and willing to adhere to all applicable safety and environmental policies as well as wear of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear plugs, harnesses, etc. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.

OTHER DUTIES: Will perform general housekeeping and other job related tasks. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be a technical or service school graduate in electronics. Requires manual dexterity necessary to perform repairs and modifications to small assemblies such as integrated circuit boards.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives; observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement. May be required to work overtime, shift-work, weekends, and holidays as required to support missions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Duties will typically be performed indoors. Often, mission control room environments are dimly lit.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must have visual acuity to regularly prepare and analyze data utilizing a computer system. Position requires very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials. May require sitting for long periods of time

GENERAL DUTIES:
- Primary job will be the operation, maintenance, and repair of the voice switching and conferencing system and various radios used during mission support at the Central Control Facility (CCF).
- Candidate will be required to plan and initiate complex configurations in support of CCF missions.
- Candidate will be required to react swiftly and precisely in response to real time mission configuration changes.
- The applicant must be able to follow guidelines for securing and handling classified information.
- May be required to attend technical support meetings, test planning meetings and mission briefings.
- Will be required to work overtime, shift-work, weekends, and holidays as required to support missions.
- Applicants with knowledge of UHF/VHF/HF/LMR radio operations, analog/digital circuitry, DS1/T1 trunking, and an understanding of troubleshooting electronic circuitry and communications systems are highly desired.
- Experience with voice communication system concepts, networking concepts, flight termination systems, and computers is desirable.
- Experience with the Compunetix voice conference system and Advance Command Destruct System is a big plus.
- Proficiency in fabricating cables, harnesses, and manipulating electronic assemblies is desired. Must have good communication skills and the ability to successfully interface with Test Engineers, government customers, and other contractor personnel.
