Job Description
Innovien is supporting a long-term national defense program focused on secure military communications and embedded defense technologies. We're hiring an Embedded Systems Engineer to own embedded software development and hardware integration across multiple classified defense programs — work that runs directly inside the military hardware protecting sensitive communications.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain embedded software for cryptographic systems, military radios, radar systems, and tactical communications hardware
Test, debug, troubleshoot, and integrate software running on embedded devices within classified and NSA-compliant engineering environments
Support software validation, system integration, and secure product development across defense programs
Collaborate with software, systems, FPGA, and hardware engineering teams on secure communications and defense technologies
Produce technical documentation, testing procedures, and engineering deliverables required for program certification and product releases
What You Bring
5+ years of embedded systems engineering in defense electronics, secure communications, radar/sensor, cryptographic, or avionics environments
Strong C/C++ development building software for embedded devices or defense hardware; minimum 1 year of Rust required
Experience testing, debugging, and integrating embedded software on Linux, RTOS, or similar embedded environments
Experience working within classified or NSA-compliant engineering environments
Active U.S. Secret clearance or above
Nice to Have
VHDL and/or FPGA experience supporting software/hardware integration within defense systems
