Duties

  • Plans, organizes, and oversees all unit level deployment activities.
  • Performs analysis activities.
  • Provides technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding unit deployment program.
  • Ensures personnel and equipment readiness.

  • The incumbent will be required to complete mandatory UDM training to include IDS/LOGMOD training, AEF Reporting Tool (ART) training, and Pallet Build-Up/Hazardous Cargo Preparation training.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
Qualifications

This is a GG-09 position in the Cyber Excepted Service (CES). The GG-0301-09 duties for the "Technician/Administrative Support" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-09 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for Administrative and Management Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series, 0301.Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:Applicant must possess quality level experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Quality experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of creditable experience include knowledge of an extensive body of rules, procedures, or operations that require extended training and experience to perform a wide variety of interrelated or non-standard procedural assignments and resolve a wide range of problems. Knowledge of methods, procedures, and skills in evaluating and performing deployment operations to identify and meet deployment requirements. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of methods, procedures, and skills in evaluating and performing deployment operations to identify and meet deployment requirements.
2. Knowledge of a wide range of federal and agency deployment/mobilization concepts, principles, practices, procedures, regulations, and laws applicable to the full range of UDM management responsibilities.
3. Knowledge of established safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws, and regulations related to the safety program, risk assessment methods, and techniques for evaluating occupational safety and health
risks.
4. Knowledge of federal planning policy and guidance to include publications applicable to the functional area.
5. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options concerning unit readiness.
6. Ability to recognize the inter-relationships of various aspects of operating programs to integrate and analyze information to evaluate overall program status.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS CONTINUED:.
1. Position is designated critical-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) to fully perform the duties and the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
