Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE :
Experience, education or training that has provided analytical, decision making, or administrative skills which demonstrates the candidates ability to accomplish the work of an organization. This experience must demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and successfully with others.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE :
Must have 12 months of experience in the Security career field or intelligence career field:
Expert in administering server-based networked systems, distributed applications, network storage, messaging, and application monitoring required to provision, sustain, operate and integrate cyber networked systems and applications in garrison and at deployed locations. Core competencies include: expertise in server operating systems, expertise in database administration, expertise in web technologies, expertise in systems-related project management and supervising cyber systems. Have expanded experiences and expertise, along with the working knowledge on how to perform Special Security Representative duties and responsibilities in a Special Security Office. Experienced in directing, managing, and completing the day-to-day operational duties within the Special Security Office in support of all sensitive compartmented information-associated security programs and measures. Experienced in managing research requirements and analyzing reports on physical, information, computer, and personnel security. Experienced in managing and conducting intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices that are necessary to accomplish intelligence functions in support of programs essential to state National Guard daily operations, training, and readiness missions. Experienced in directing and implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information programs and to protect sensitive compartmented information resources.
Competent and knowledgeable as a technical specialist expert on sensitive compartmented information security matters, as well as, other areas of classified security and classification guidance. Competent and
knowledgeable on how to maintain currency on a variety of different security program inter-relationships, requirements, regulations and guidance in order to protect sensitive compartmented information facilities and materials from espionage, sabotage, and destruction. Competent to manage, direct, and implement policies 14 and procedures for accomplishment of sensitive compartmented information protection and security. Experienced in researching, interpreting, analyzing and applying Presidential Executive Orders, Director Central Intelligence Directives, Defense Intelligence Agency Manuals, DoD Manuals, Air Force Manuals, Air Force Instructions, and local Operating Instructions. Experienced in managing and complying with Sensitive Compartmented Information facilities, construction and physical requirements, standards and regulations. Experiences included managing and implementing the Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance program and maintaining current and completed clearances for assigned personnel. Experienced in conducting, directing, managing, and assessing Special Security Office self-inspections and skilled in presenting detailed and comprehensive reports with consistent follow-up work to ensure complete and quality discrepancies resolutions improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency.

As a PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-9, you will:
- Receives, reviews, and submits requests for personnel clearances for serviced civilian, contractor, and military personnel. Checks the request for completeness and accuracy and contacts the Security Manager, Supervisor, points of contact at the serviced units, and/or the individual subject of the background/clearance investigation for any questions or corrections that are required.
- Uses computer software such as analysis tools to research and facilitate work. Maintains a file for status of pending investigations, status of all members, as well as periodic reinvestigations for secret and top secret clearances held. Checks with the agency performing the investigation for an update on the status of the security clearance in question as required.
- Performs duties related to assisting suitability adjudications/determinations for the fitness and suitability of civilian employees, contractors and/or applicants for initial and continuing employment retention.
- Executes established policies and procedures required for the personnel security program. Implements and executes policies and procedures in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) Title 5, Part 731, Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 1400.25, 1402.05, AR 380-67, Army Directive (AD) 2014-23 regulations and ARNG policies
- Perform other duties when assigned to.
