Job Description
TEKsystems is hiring an R&D Site Lead to serve as the on-site technical and personnel lead for research and development efforts supporting the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) at Tyndall AFB. This individual will oversee day-to-day execution of R&D activities, lead small technical teams, and act as the primary interface with government customers, industry partners, and remote engineering teams.
The role blends technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on R&D oversight, supporting applied research, prototype development, and live demonstrations across software, robotics, sUAS, and EOD-related technologies.
Responsibilities:
-Serve as the on-site lead for R&D activities supporting AFCEC
-Provide technical and team leadership for engineers and developers
-Coordinate efforts across software engineering, robotics, small UAS, and EOD-related technologies
-Act as primary point of contact with government customers and industry partners
-Lead applied research, prototype development, and proof-of-concept demonstrations
-Support system design, development, testing, deployment, and operational demonstrations
-Plan, execute, and manage test events and demonstrations
-Participate in and guide agile development teams and workflows
-Communicate requirements, progress, and risks to internal and external stakeholders
-Support code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement efforts
-Monitor emerging technologies and integrate innovative solutions
