Overview

Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly capable, strategic, and proactive professional to serve as a Strategy Cell Subject Matter Expert (SME). This role provides senior-level advisory support through the analysis of complex operational, organizational, and technical data to inform strategic decision-making, policy development, and mission execution.

The ideal candidate will align leadership priorities with operational objectives while ensuring compliance, best practices, and mission requirements are effectively integrated across initiatives. Strong analytical, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential.

The Strategy Cell SME will directly support senior PAE leadership in organizational strategy, enterprise planning, and long-range initiatives. Responsibilities include assessing emerging trends, evaluating organizational posture, and developing actionable recommendations to support executive-level decision-making and strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

The Strategy Cell SME will:
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on strategic initiatives, including IT modernization, cybersecurity, and emerging industry trends
  • Define, develop, and implement long-term strategies, policies, and processes in support of Strategy Cell objectives
  • Review complex technical deliverables, systems, and performance data to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards
  • Analyze operational challenges and provide data-driven insights to support executive decision-making and strategic direction
  • Develop and deliver executive-level briefings, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations for senior leadership
  • Translate leadership guidance into executable strategies, frameworks, and mission-focused initiatives
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across DAF RCO, SSC, and OSD to align strategic priorities, initiatives, and planning efforts
  • Support wargaming activities, strategic reviews, and capability gap analyses to inform future operational and acquisition planning


Requirements

Skills and Experience

The Strategy Cell SME must have:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • 7+ years of experience in DoD strategic planning, policy development, acquisition, or related mission support environments
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing enterprise or organizational-level strategic plans
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing senior leaders and executive stakeholders
  • Prior experience supporting AFSPC, U.S. Space Force (USSF), OSD, Joint Staff, or other defense space organizations
  • Familiarity with space systems acquisition strategies and PPBE (Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution) processes

Education and Certifications

The Strategy Cell SME must have the following:

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Preferred
  • Master's degree
  • Completion of senior-level Professional Military Education (PME), such as Air War College (AWC), Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF), or equivalent

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
