Job Description

Duties

  • Establish and maintain control over work operations and assures production output for safe, efficient, and economical accomplishment.
  • Adjust plans, assignments, and methods as necessary to accomplish the work, including providing technical instructions and guidance when problems arise.
  • Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Work along with the other electricians and electronic industrial controls mechanic setting the pace and demonstrates the proper work methods involved in accomplishing assigned tasks.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrician Leader ~ without more than normal supervision. I have journeyman level experience where engaged in a full range of electrical maintenance and repair work (i.e., installed, modified, repaired, maintained, troubleshot, tested, and loaded new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment). I have read and interpreted building plans, electrical drawings, electrical wiring diagrams and schematics. I have planned and laid out work, tracing hard-to-locate defects or problems and completing repairs and installations. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
  • PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical effort is required in walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working off scaffolds, ladders and in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Physical effort is required in lifting, positioning, carrying, parts and equipment that weigh up to 40 pounds and occasionally more than40 pounds.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside. Subject to electrical shocks and burns, cuts and abrasions, abnormal heatand cold, fumes, burns, corrosive chemicals, dust, grease. May be required to work in both non-permit and permit required confined spaces and implement proper rescue and entry techniques.
