Specialized Experience for Current Federal Employees: One year of specialized experience which includes advising on security matters, coordinated with multiple agencies, and prepared detailed reports, plans, and correspondence; directing and manage subordinate staff; experience using a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices; use various modern security systems and equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.

Additional information
- Supervise Physical Security Specialists and subordinate supervisors over the Installation Physical Security Program - Compliance, the Installation Physical Security Program Formulate construction contracts.
- Advise the Installation Commanding General, other MACOM Commanders, Garrison Command, and Director of Emergency Services of issues that impact the security position of the Garrison and their tenants.
- Serve as the Physical Security Subject Matter Expert for the Installation Command Inspection Program.
- Develops plans and operating procedures, sets policies and coordinates all matters pertaining to physical security and installation access control.
- Serves as the Command's subject matter expert on force protection planning, terrorism counteractions, and assist on all command security upgrade projects.

- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position is designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather or any emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis
- This position requires the incumbent obtain SPeD certification (Security Fundamental Professional Certification) within their first two years of employment
- This position requires the incumbent obtain subsequent SPeD certifications.
- This position requires the incumbent to be on-call to include weekends, nights and/or holidays.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles
