***This position is for 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM - 12:30 PM.***
We are looking for an Electronic Technician 2 to support our Manufacturing Test department. As a member of the Operations department you’ll get to test products that are components in Electronic Warfare simulation systems and will also perform assembly duties as required for workflow. This position will serve on-site at Buffalo, NY.
Responsibilities
Under close supervision, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video type circuits and logic systems. Guidance is readily available from superiors. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks. Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications. Diagnoses and isolates malfunctions down to component level. Conducts defined engineering tests and collects data as assigned. Utilizes routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, VOM, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus. Normally assigned in area such as development, engineering, test equipment design, or the like.
Basic Qualifications for Electronic Technician 2
o 4 years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree in an electronic field of study plus 2 years of related experience; or 2 years of U.S. military electronic schooling plus 2 years of related experience.
o Experience testing and troubleshooting RF and digital equipment.
o Experience working with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.
o Manual dexterity with the ability to handle and assemble small parts.
Preferred Qualifications for Electronic Technician 2
o Hands-on use of the drawings, wire lists, source control drawings, or test procedures.
o Experience working with microelectronics and performing tuning under a microscope.
o Experience working with engineering teams.
o Experience with soldering and electronic assembly processes.
o Working knowledge of defense electronics, with a preference to Electronic Warfare systems.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
o Experience working in a performance based and metrics driven culture
$30hr to $50hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
