Quality Management Specialist –
Location: Huntsville, Alabama
Clearance: Active DoD Secret
Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Management Specialist with experience supporting Army and Department of Defense programs in Huntsville, Alabama. This role supports mission critical systems and programs within a structured defense environment where compliance, process discipline, and continuous improvement are essential.
The Quality Management Specialist will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program teams to ensure products and services meet contractual, regulatory, and customer quality requirements. This role is comparable in scope, rigor, and accountability to Quality positions found on large, long term Army programs at major defense contractors, supporting development, production, and sustainment efforts.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Compliance
• Support and maintain compliance with established Quality Management Systems (QMS), including AS9100, ISO 9001, and applicable DoD and Army standards.
• Ensure program execution aligns with contractual quality requirements and company procedures.
• Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of quality plans, processes, and work instructions.
Process Monitoring & Improvement
• Perform process audits, reviews, and assessments to verify adherence to quality standards.
• Identify trends, risks, and non conformances; support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance process efficiency, product quality, and compliance.
Program & Engineering Support
• Work directly with engineering and program teams to support quality activities across the product lifecycle.
• Support design, development, production, and sustainment phases of Army programs.
• Ensure quality considerations are integrated into program planning, execution, and reviews.
Supplier & Material Quality
• Support supplier quality activities, including evaluations, audits, and issue resolution.
• Assist with material reviews, discrepancy tracking, and root cause analysis.
• Coordinate quality data and metrics related to supplier and subcontractor performance.
Metrics, Reporting & Reviews
• Collect, analyze, and report quality metrics to program and functional leadership.
• Support internal reviews, customer audits, and compliance inspections.
• Prepare quality status updates, briefings, and documentation for program reviews.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
• Interface with government quality representatives and program stakeholders.
• Support Army customer audits, quality reviews, and corrective action follow ups.
• Communicate quality issues, risks, and recommended actions clearly and professionally.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Business, or related STEM discipline
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Management or Quality Assurance
• Experience supporting DoD or Army programs in a regulated environment
• Working knowledge of:
o AS9100 or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
o Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes
o Root cause analysis techniques
• Experience reviewing procedures, work instructions, and compliance documentation
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

• Background in aerospace, defense, or missile systems programs
• Familiarity with:
o Configuration management
o Manufacturing and inspection processes

• Knowledge of Earned Value or program performance metrics
• Prior experience working in Huntsville based Army program environments
