Position Overview:
CODEplus is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Architect to lead the design and execution of secure, mission critical cloud solutions supporting Department of Defense and federal customers. This role requires a hands on technical leader who thrives in small, agile teams, collaborates directly with customers, and delivers high impact cloud solutions in secure environments.
The Azure Architect will serve as the technical authority for Azure architecture and cloud modernization efforts, working closely with government stakeholders, program management, systems engineering, and DevSecOps teams. This position combines strategic architecture leadership with hands on execution, consistent with CODEplus’s engineering first culture.

Key Responsibilities:
Azure Architecture & Technical Leadership
• Serve as the lead Azure architect for one or more programs, defining solution architectures aligned to mission, security, and operational requirements.
• Architect and evolve Azure Government and hybrid cloud environments supporting classified and unclassified workloads.
• Define cloud reference architectures, standards, and patterns used across CODEplus programs.
• Ensure architecture designs adhere to DoD security requirements (IL4/IL5, RMF, Zero Trust).
Agile & DevSecOps Execution
• Provide technical leadership to Agile delivery teams, participating in PI planning, sprint reviews, and technical backlog grooming.
• Guide implementation of DevSecOps pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated compliance.
• Review designs, pull requests, and deployments to ensure architectural integrity and security.
• Resolve complex technical issues impacting delivery, performance, or security.
Integration & Systems Collaboration
• Lead integration between cloud-hosted services, on prem systems, and external mission systems.
• Collaborate closely with Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Networking, and Software teams.
• Identify cross team dependencies and drive technical resolution in fast paced program environments.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to government customers and program leadership.
• Develop and deliver technical briefings, architecture diagrams, and decision papers for senior leaders.
• Participate in technical interchange meetings (TIMs), design reviews, and program reviews.
Risk, Cost, & Program Support:
• Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies tied to architecture and delivery.
• Support Program Managers with cloud cost estimation, trade studies, and schedule impacts.
• Contribute to proposals and re competes by developing:
o Cloud architecture approaches
o Basis of Estimate (BOE) inputs
o Technical volumes and diagrams

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 10+ years of relevant technical experience
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (must be able to work in classified environments)
• Deep hands on experience architecting solutions in Microsoft Azure
• Strong background in:
o Azure networking, identity, compute, storage, and security
o Azure Government or regulated cloud environments
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams in Agile and DevSecOps environments
• Experience working directly with government customers
• Strong communication skills with the ability to brief technical and non technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to balance technical rigor, delivery speed, and cost constraints
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and ownership—essential in CODEplus’s small team environment

o Azure Security Engineer

• Experience with:

o Containers and Kubernetes (AKS)
• Prior experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal mission systems
