The Data Engineer - Jr supports the design, development, and sustainment of data pipelines, data integration, and basic data infrastructure that enable analytics and AI/ML solutions for CD&I. This position focuses on ingesting, transforming, and preparing data from multiple USMC and DoD systems for use by analysts, data scientists, and operational stakeholders.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Position Description:
The Data Engineer - Jr supports the design, development, and sustainment of data pipelines, data integration, and basic data infrastructure that enable analytics and AI/ML solutions for CD&I. This position focuses on ingesting, transforming, and preparing data from multiple USMC and DoD systems for use by analysts, data scientists, and operational stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and maintaining pipelines to move and transform data from source systems into analytic data stores.
- Implement basic data quality checks, validation routines, and data cleansing processes.
- Support the integration of structured and semi-structured data sources relevant to capability development and experimentation.
- Work with senior data engineers and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical tasks.
- Contribute to the documentation of data flows, schemas, and data dictionaries.
- Implement basic data security and access controls in accordance with DoD/USMC policies and best practices.
- Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and support operations and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or related technical role.
- Basic experience with SQL and at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python).
- Familiarity with relational databases and concepts such as tables, views, indices, and joins.
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow established engineering standards and practices.
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience supporting DoD/USMC or other Federal customers.
